The Police Field Force Headquarters has summoned 1,200 persons who violated traffic lane regulations that were imposed along four main roads in Colombo over the past five days.
Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Jaliya Senaratne said they are being summoned for a workshop to be educated on their offence.
SSP Senaratne said they will receive training and education by Deputy Inspector General of Police of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon and the Director in Charge of the respective district.
The SSP added the driver’s data will be included in the Police database, and will be fined thereafter if traffic violations continue.
He requested the public to abide by traffic lane regulations and urged motorists to support government efforts to create a better commute for the public.
