Sri Lanka stocks closed 0.19 per cent higher on Monday pushed by John Keels Holdings, Expolanka and Sri Lanka Telecom, Colombo Stock Exchange provisional data showed.
Colombo’s main, All Share Price Index gained 11.34 per cent to close at 5,957.13.
S&P SL20 index of most liquid stocks gained 0.70 per cent or 16.54 points to end at 2,386.97.
The market turnover was 139 million rupees with 93 stocks gaining and 108 making losses.
John Keells Holdings PLC contributed most to ASPI’s gain trading 2.40 rupees up at 135.20 rupees a share.
Other stocks which contributed to ASPI’s gain were Expolanka Holdings gaining 60 cents to trade at 19.30 rupees a share, Sri Lanka Telecom stocks climbed 60 cents to trade at 31.70 rupees a share while Asiri Hospital Holdings stocks climbed 90 cents to trade at 23.40 rupees a share.
The Food, Beverage and Tobacco index, which was the most active, gained 0.15 per cent.
