Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardana says a laundry soap bar which meets the required standards will be introduced to the market tomorrow.
Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo, the Trade Minister claimed the laundry soaps used by the public at present, are substandard.
Minister Gunawardana said according to his observations, over the years, the general public had been using detergent and not soap.
He added it must have a 59% or above TFM value, to be categorised as soap.
The Minister further said soap manufacturing companies will also be able to provide detergents, if consumers require, for rates lower than the current market price.
