Gnanaprakash Prakas (26), an independent journalist who was infected with the COVID-19 virus, has died.
A native of Kodikamam, Prakas has been an independent journalist writing articles and news for Newspaper published in Jaffna, as well as writing articles for local and foreign websites.
At the same time, he worked as a news uploader for some websites.
As well as uploading instantaneous domestic and foreign news on Facebook.
He had been suffering from headache, cough and mild fever for the last five days.
In connection with that, he wrote on his Facebook page at 3pm on Wednesday, “I have been suffering from fever for the last five days with a mild headache and cough. My work will continue uninterrupted after recovery. Wait until then. “
He succumbed to his injuries this evening when his family rushed him to the hospital.
At the age of seven, he was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and was unable to walk. It is noteworthy that beyond all of them he maintained a place of his own in the field of media.
He was also awarded the Raviraj Memorial Award in recognition of the contribution to the society for Integration Activities Through Social Media in 2019.
