Sri Lanka to start vaccinating 20-29 year olds from tomorrow

Sri Lanka will start vaccinating 20 to 29 year olds in Colombo, Gampaha, Kaluthara and Galle district from Monday, a government statement said.

In the Colombo district in addition to existing centres Viharamaha Devi Park, Diyatha Uyana, Panagoda Army Camp and Army Medical Corps Headquarters, Werahera, the head of Sri Lanka’s Coronavirus task force General Shavendra Silva said.

Sri Lanka has vaccinated, 41.6 percent of the population with two doses by September 02.

Another 57.9 percent had been vaccinated with one dose.

Sri Lanka is currently under lockdown till September 13. Authorities are ramping up vaccination to re-open the country.
