100,000 litres of nano nitrogen liquid fertiliser, imported for agricultural purposes for the Maha season, reached the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning.
The consignment weighing 45MT arrived in the island from the Hyderabad International Airport, India onboard a SriLankan Airlines cargo flight.
3.1 million litres of nano nitrogen liquid fertiliser have been imported from India with the first consignment arriving in the island this morning.
The stock of liquid fertiliser will be distributed to farmers through Agrarian Centres in the Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee District where paddy cultivation has already commenced for the Maha season.
The Nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer is a fourth-generation product that is currently regarded as the most efficient and environmentally friendly way of providing crops nitrogen nutrient.
